總統馬英九昨（十九）日前往台北世貿為二○一五台灣美食展加油打氣，在台鐵局「鐵道便當」主題館展場，總統與官員一起製作幸福飯糰。司儀表示，聽說總統一年要吃掉三百多個便當，總統馬上糾正：「七百多個便當」。
二○一五台灣美食展昨（十九）日進入第三天，參展民眾熙來攘往，顯示台灣美食展對民眾還是有一定的吸引力，總統蒞臨引起展場一陣騷動，許多民眾頻頻高喊：「總統好！」
馬總統昨天下午是在交通部、陳保基、原民會等部會官員陪同下，首先到食來運轉遊台灣參觀，隨後又到了客委會、原民會、台鐵局、農委會，以及花蓮縣政府等參展的各個主題館，在原民會展場，總統親自製作原住民咪咪飯糰，司儀問說：「總統，好不好吃？」總統起先沒回答，後來又俏皮的回說：「我還沒吃呢，怎知道好不好吃。」
在參觀「芡香台灣」主題館時，總統對香菜很感興趣，頻頻發問。交通部觀光局長謝謂君會後受訪轉述，由於總統常常吃便當，對食材頗有見解，當他看到香菜時，告訴在場官員，香菜是外來品種，陪同官員先是回以香菜台灣早就有了。可是，後來再看了解說，才知道香菜原來是當年張騫出使西域時帶回中原。
